This kind of personal rebrand is one you rarely hear on social media. But I promise you, it’s one that actually works.
A handful of influencers and content creators are currently talking about a rebranding and reinventing themselves right now that solely depend on you and your own motivation to change. I want to clarify, a “rebrand” is just a fancy buzzword people have been using nowadays to describe the act of changing yourself and your habits to align with who you desire to be. In other words, it’s self help transformation. And unfortunately it doesn’t always work. It also doesn’t have a sustaining longevity to it either. But this type of rebrand and self transformation I’m going to tell you isn’t that at all. And it’s personally worked for me. So you’re curious?

God’s version of new year resolutions + transformation
So let’s talk about what God’s rebrand guide looks like. It’s completely supernatural in how you receive it + how it actually works.
In God’s rulebook, He says that if you want to change, true transformation depends on someone else outside of you.
This is where it gets supernatural.
The person you depend on to help change you is a Holy Ghost who will be your teacher, and He will live inside of you (John 14:26). Your body will become this home for the Holy Ghost to live in as He give you a supernatural strength to change from the inside out (John14:16-17). To transform into a person that you’re naturally not. Don’t worry. It’s not like the scary ghost possessions that you see in horror movies. Remember––this is a good Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) from God Himself.
And this is how you invite the Holy friend into your life.
How genuine transformation begins
You get the Holy Spirit in exchange of one thing from you, and it’s not by attaining perfection to get the approval from God. That’s how the world operates, but it isn’t how God operates.
So this is how it works:
all you need to do is believe in this God-man named Jesus, who lived the perfect life we couldn’t + died the death we deserved because of how we’ve failed God.
You’d think that God would demand us to live perfectly before He gives us free gifts like the Holy Spirit that we don’t deserve. But He doesn’t. All He wants us to do is, again, receive this other beautiful free yet costly gift of His Son Jesus and to believe in Him (John 3:16). That is absolutely crazy. We don’t earn the Holy Spirit. We are gifted the Holy Spirit through salvation in Jesus Christ (Titus 3:4-6).
The reason why new year resolutions and rebrand guides exist in the first place
Have you ever considered why we even have new year resolutions and fancy words like “personal rebrand” when we approach the new year? It’s because people are tragically imperfect. All these goals we set up for ourselves in the new year continue to prove the point that sin is in fact real, and it has corrupted every aspect of our lives whether we believe in God or not.
If you really take time to think about it, these new year resolutions and healthy habit goals wouldn’t exist if you and I had it all together. It wouldn’t exist if we lived in a perfect flawless world, the way God designed it to be from the beginning (Gen 1-2). But they exist because we always. always. miss the mark. Tomorrow we could be closer to our goal, but it’s never enough to make us satisfied. And even when we are satisfied with reaching our goal, it never lasts long.
Take for example when someone finally loses their dream weight. The body doesn’t naturally stay at that perfect number, but it naturally will increase and gain the pounds back. So that person has to do a lot of maintenance to sustain their perfect goal weight because the physical body is naturally following the law of sin: decay. There’s no longevity in maintaining our goals because each year we keep making new ones which continues to prove that this lifetime guarantees no perfection. The only thing it guarantees us is imperfection.
The new heart operation
Imperfection began when Satan, the #1 God opposer and liar, decided to bring God’s beautiful human creation down with him when he tempted the first two humans to disobey God (Gen 3). For years and years throughout history God took it upon Himself to make a way for humans to supernaturally change and be the people we were supposed to be from the beginning. He doesn’t just give you a second chance of trying to get it right in life. Because in all honesty, that would never happen. So He has to do this. God has to give you a new heart that would desire what He desires, which goes against what we naturally desire. By nature, we desire whatever is evil (Ephesians 4:17-19).
God isn’t a just a God of second chances. He’s a God of new beginnings. He didn’t just undo creation at the snap of His finger, but in His great omnipotence, God decided to make a new one in heart through the Holy Spirit who came as a seal of salvation from Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:3).
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26
